After the final match of the regular season all playoffs participants of VTB United League championship -2011/12 have been determined. The last ticket to the playoffs thanks to home victory over the Latvian VEF won the Lithuanian Zalgiris. Thus the Russian CSKA, Khimki, UNICS, Spartak, Lokomotiv-Kuban, Nizhniy Novgorod, the Lithuanian Lietuvos Rytas and Zalgiris have got into the playoffs. CSKA and UNICS, as the winners of the regular championship in their groups , got early into the Final Four, while Khimki and Spartak, will play from the second round of the playoffs. Thus, in the 1/8 finals (series till two wins) will play: Lietuvos Rytas (Lithuania) - Nizhniy Novgorod (Russia), Zalgiris (Lithuania) - Lokomotiv-Kuban (Russia). The first matches will be held on April 8 in Nizhniy Novgorod and Krasnodar, and the second and, if required, the third – on April 10, 11, respectively, in Vilnius and Kaunas. In 1/4 finals (also series till two wins) the winner of the match Lietuvos Rytas - Nizhniy Novgorod will meet with Khimki, and the strongest in the fight between Zalgiris - Lokomotiv-Kuban - with Spartak. The first matches will be held on April 18 (on the parquet of the winners of the 1/8 finals), but the second and, if required, the third - on April 20 and 21, respectively, in Khimki and St. Petersburg. The 3rd VTB United League Final Four in the history of the championship is scheduled on May 2-3. The venue of the final round of the season will be defined later, after all four participants will be determined.
